they weren’t gardeners. But the gorgeous garden they
inherited from the previous owners stirred their
interest. Now, their flowers and organic vegetable
garden are a big part of their lives. “We work and relax
there and share plants with our neighbours,” says Susan.
Will says, “We entertain more because of the garden.
When we have parties, everyone wanders around to
look. It’s conducive to getting people to talk.”
The roses’ diversity of shapes and fragrances attracts
Will. ‘Cressida’, a David Austin variety (found in most
nurseries in India too), is the most fragrant rose in the
yard and the couple’s first choice for bouquets. But the
most breathtaking beauty of the yard is the backyard
trellis dripping with ‘Eden’ rose blossoms. “Everyone who
sees the trellis says the exact same thing: “You should have
weddings here,”’ says Susan.
